Is it free to try?
Yes. Downloading the tool, reading your counter and one trial reset per printer cost nothing. The trial drops the waste ink counter to 85% when it is at 90% or above, which clears the error so the printer prints again. A key resets the counter all the way to 0%.
Can I use the free trial twice?
No. Each printer gets one trial, counted on our server, so reinstalling the tool does not add another. If the trial fails part-way, it is not counted.
Does the tool need an internet connection?
Yes. The standard version downloads the settings for your exact printer model from our server each time, so it needs internet even to read the counter. Repair shops that work offline can ask about the technician version.
Does it work over Wi-Fi, or only with a USB cable?
Use a USB cable: it works on every supported printer. Resetting over Wi-Fi is newer. It only applies to printers that have Wi-Fi built in. If your printer is not found over Wi-Fi, connect the cable.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit), plus a separate build for Windows 7 and 32-bit Windows. Both are on the download page. A macOS version is in testing; you can leave your email there to hear when it is ready.
Windows warns me about the file. Is it safe?
Windows shows “Windows protected your PC” for software that is not code-signed yet. Click More info, then Run anyway. Some antivirus programs also flag small tools like this by mistake. You can check the file’s SHA-256 against the one on our download page. More about safety.
How many times can I use one key?
One key is one full reset on one printer. The 5-key and 10-key packs cost less per reset, and keys do not expire. Repair shops can ask about a yearly technician key for unlimited resets on one computer.
How do I pay, and when do I get the key?
Checkout runs on Gumroad, which takes credit and debit cards and PayPal. The key is emailed to you automatically, usually within a minute, at any time of day.
My key has not arrived. What now?
Check your spam or promotions folder first. Then open My keys to send your keys to your inbox again, or message us on WhatsApp with the email you paid with.
I reset the counter but the printer still shows the error.
Switch the printer off, wait a few seconds, and switch it back on. The printer only reads the new counter after a restart.
Does a reset clean the ink pads?
No. It resets the number the printer counts, not the pads. If the pads are soaked, wash and dry them, replace them, or fit an external waste ink tank, otherwise ink can overflow later. What to do with the pads.
Will a reset fix streaks or missing colours?
No. Print quality problems come from the print head, not the counter. The tool has a head cleaning and a nozzle check button that may help.
Can every Epson be reset?
No. Some newer models collect waste ink in a replaceable maintenance box with a chip. On those, the box is replaced and a software reset does not apply. Check your model.
What does the tool send to your server?
The printer model, serial number, a computer ID, the key used and the result of the reset. We use it to check keys, count free trials and support you. It does not read or send anything you print. Privacy policy.
